Over the past week, the Microsoft and XBOX ecosystem has brought us several exciting updates. Let’s take a look at the latest news on MG Store!
From the announcement of a brand-new dimension in Minecraft, to the release of Minecraft Dungeons II and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered, as well as new XBOX digital gaming and achievement features, the Microsoft gaming ecosystem continues to deliver fresh content and experiences for players.
1. Microsoft Industry Updates: Minecraft Reveals a New Dimension
At Minecraft LIVE on September 26, Microsoft revealed a brand-new dimension called The Sift. This marks the first new dimension introduced to Minecraft in its 14-year history.
The Sift will first appear in Minecraft Dungeons II and is planned to arrive in the main Minecraft game in 2027, bringing players new environments, exploration opportunities, and adventures. Meanwhile, Microsoft officially released the Windows 11 2026 Update on September 29, further enhancing the Windows PC experience and providing continued support for Microsoft Store, the XBOX App, and the broader PC gaming ecosystem.
2. Microsoft Store & New Games: More Titles Are Now Available
On September 29, Minecraft Dungeons II officially launched and joined XBOX Game Pass on day one. Building on Minecraft’s iconic block-based world, the game combines action, exploration, and dungeon-crawling gameplay. It also supports Xbox Play Anywhere, allowing players to switch between XBOX consoles and Windows PC.
The classic RPG The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered also arrived on Microsoft Store this week with Xbox Play Anywhere support. Players who already own the original version can upgrade to the remastered edition for free.
In addition, Gothic II Complete Classic, Transport Fever 3, Way of the Hunter 2, and other titles have joined the latest XBOX game lineup.
3. XBOX Updates: Digital Gaming and Player Experiences Continue to Evolve
XBOX is continuing to expand its Disc to Digital feature, allowing eligible physical games to be linked to a player’s digital game library, making it easier to manage and enjoy their game collection.
Meanwhile, XBOX Insider is testing a new feature called Mythic Achievements. Players who complete all of a game’s original achievements can earn a corresponding Mythic status, while a new progress-tracking feature makes it easier to see how close they are to completing their goals. This adds another layer of challenge for achievement hunters.
This Week’s Takeaway
This week, the Microsoft gaming ecosystem continued to focus on new content, cross-platform gaming, and digital experiences. From new Minecraft content and Microsoft Store releases to the latest XBOX features, players have more ways to discover and enjoy games across platforms.
For MG, the continued integration between Microsoft Store, XBOX PC, and Game Pass remains an area worth following closely.
