On May 1, during Wednesday's earnings call, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella revealed that in FY2025 Q3, Microsoft-published games ranked first in both pre-orders and pre-installs on the PlayStation and Xbox stores. Year-over-year, Microsoft's gaming revenue rose 5%, with Xbox content and services seeing an 8% increase, thanks in large part to Xbox Game Pass, Call of Duty, and Minecraft. Just last week, Microsoft launched cloud gaming on LG TVs, and this quarter marked the first time cloud gaming hours surpassed 150 million. On May 1, Microsoft officially announced a global price increase for Xbox consoles. On May 3, FromSoftware unveiled a 10-minute gameplay trailer for Elden Ring: Nightreign, showcasing intense boss battles and cooperative gameplay. This new entry is designed as a multiplayer PvE co-op game, supporting 3-player co-op or solo play. It's set to release on May 30, 2025, for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC, with full Chinese language support.

In China, the standard edition is priced at RMB 198, while the Digital Deluxe Edition is priced at RMB 268. For fans of the Elden Ring series and those who enjoy PvE cooperative play, this highly anticipated release promises an all-new adventure.


Gears of War: Reloaded Set for August 26 Multi-Platform Launch

On May 6, via the official Xbox Wire blog, Microsoft announced Gears of War: Reloaded, slated for release on August 26, 2025, at a price of $39.99 (approx. RMB 289). Developed by The Coalition in collaboration with Sumo Interactive and Disbelief, this title is a full remake of the original 2006 Gears of War, celebrating the franchise's 20th anniversary. It retains the core essence of the original, while being deeply optimized for modern hardware—supporting 4K resolution, 60 FPS for the single-player campaign, and 120 FPS in multiplayer modes.

The game will be available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Xbox Cloud Gaming, PlayStation 5, and Steam. It will also be playable for free on day one for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. The game includes all content from Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, and post-launch updates—including extra campaign chapters, multiplayer maps and modes, as well as classic character skins—will also be free. It supports both split-screen and online co-op, with up to 8-player multiplayer and full cross-platform functionality via Xbox Live login.

The game supports offline earnings and auto-battle mechanics, offering a laid-back yet engaging experience.
