It's been another buzzing week in the gaming world! Microsoft continues to make strong moves in the gaming sector, with major announcements ranging from hardware expansion to content updates. From LG TVs transforming into Xbox cloud gaming platforms, to Forza Horizon 5 arriving on PS5, and the upcoming launch of Nightmare Scape on the Microsoft Store—each piece of news is worth a deep dive. Let's break down this week's most exciting updates related to Microsoft games and the Microsoft Store.

PS5 version of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle sells faster than Xbox version

On April 28, VGC reported that the PlayStation 5 version of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is leading sales "across all platforms," surpassing the Xbox and PC versions.

According to sales data compiled by Alinea Analytics, by April 23, 2025, the PS5 version had sold 117,200 units within six days of launch. By comparison, the Steam version had sold only 91,200 units in the same post-launch window as of December 14, 2024. Even with a 28% growth rate, the Steam version's total sales are around 310,000 units, and the PS5 version is projected to exceed that.

It's worth noting that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle first launched on Xbox and PC in December last year to critical acclaim. Microsoft revealed the player count has surpassed 4 million, with an estimated 5 million players on Xbox—most of whom accessed it via Game Pass. Developed by MachineGames, this single-player, first-person adventure is set in 1937, between the films Raiders of the Lost Ark and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Players embark on a global quest to stop evil forces from acquiring the ancient power tied to the Great Circle. MachineGames is also developing a story DLC titled Order of the Giants, expected later this year.

Forza Horizon 5 launches on PS5 with early access for Premium Edition players

On April 25, Forza Horizon 5, one of Microsoft's most acclaimed titles, officially launched on Sony's PlayStation 5 through an early access program. Originally released in late 2021 on PC and Xbox platforms, the game received wide praise and now reaches a broader audience on PS5.

Players who purchased the Premium Edition can now play ahead of the official release for Standard and Deluxe Edition owners on April 29. Alongside the PS5 launch, developer Playground Games introduced the major "Horizon Fields" content update. This update allows players to relive the iconic "dynamic world" experience, adds a new arena race track, introduces new vehicles, and launches a Nissan Retro Riders Car Pack available on Steam, Microsoft Store, and PlayStation Store. Additionally, players can unlock 17 new achievements and 45 in-game honors. To help new players get started, Playground Games has published a beginner's guide on their official blog.

LG TVs now support Xbox Cloud Gaming—play hit titles directly on your TV

On April 24, Xbox Wire announced that certain LG TVs now support the Xbox app, allowing players to access Xbox Cloud Gaming directly on their TV screens. Titles such as Avowed and South of Midnight are among those included.

The supported devices include 2022 OLED models, select 2023 LG Smart TVs and later, and smart monitors equipped with webOS24. The setup is straightforward: access the LG Gaming Portal, download the Xbox app, log into your Microsoft account, and connect a Bluetooth controller (such as an Xbox Series X|S or PS5 DualSense controller) to start playing.

Xbox Cloud Gaming is included in the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, which supports a wide range of platforms, including Xbox consoles, Amazon Fire TV Stick, Meta Quest 3, Windows PCs, and Android/iOS devices. Currently, the cloud gaming service supports 50 titles at launch, with continuous updates. New releases such as Assassin's Creed: Shadows, Subnautica, and The Thing Remastered are regularly added, alongside first-party Xbox titles like South of Midnight, Avowed, and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered—offering players a wealth of gaming options.

Nightmare Scape launches May 7 on Microsoft Store—enter a terrifying puzzle adventure

Co-published by Miracle Games and Magic Fish Studio, the horror puzzle-adventure Nightmare Scape will officially launch on the Microsoft Store on May 7.

Nightmare Scape immerses players in a suspenseful, dreamlike world full of fear and mystery. You play as a young boy named Bill, who escapes his broken family by entering a dark dreamscape of his own creation. With the help of a "Dream Sprite" companion, he must evade terrifying monsters. Every puzzle holds shocking truths, and players must rely on wit and courage to navigate the labyrinthine dream world and piece together fragments of lost memories to uncover the secrets hidden within.

The game offers several distinctive features. In "Escape the Darkness, Seek the Truth," players explore a surreal world, gather clues, solve mysteries, and gradually uncover the dream's truth on a journey toward self-redemption. "Brains and Bravery" challenges players with logic-based and observation-heavy puzzles that require clever use of the Dream Sprite's abilities to overcome obstacles. The Dream Sprite plays a crucial role, guiding players through the darkness by detecting hidden passages, locating secret items, and sensing danger ahead. Mastering its powers is key to surviving the dreamscape. Most importantly, "Face the Fear, Overcome the Nightmare" lies at the game's core. Monsters born from inner fears lurk within the dream, and players must stay alert and confront their inner demons to escape the nightmare.
