In "War and Eternity" (Infinity Kingdom), a game where players from around the world share the same server, diplomacy is primarily conducted through alliances. Alliance diplomacy is quite interesting—sometimes alliances are hostile toward each other, while at other times they need to cooperate. This perfectly illustrates the saying, "There are no permanent enemies, only permanent interests."
In the game, numerous alliances coexist, and players are mixed together. Regarding how alliances should interact, I’ll briefly outline some key points, hoping to provide some guidance for newcomers.
How to Establish an Alliance
Creating an alliance is very simple. Click on the "Alliance" button at the bottom right, enter your desired alliance name, and pay 800 gems to establish it.
If you are already a member of an alliance, you can leave and join another alliance within the same faction after a 15-minute cooldown. However, you cannot join an alliance from a different faction unless you switch factions. It’s advisable not to switch factions lightly, as each switch costs 2,000 gems (new players can switch for free during the early stages, but after the beginner period, gems are required).
What Are the Positions in an Alliance?
The leader of an alliance holds the exclusive R6 title, R5 is the elder, R4 is the core member, R3 is the elite, R2 is the member, and R1 is the newcomer.
R6 and R5 are essentially the managers of the alliance, possessing most of the authority. They handle external negotiations, while other members have limited permissions. In the world chat, you’ll often see managers from other alliances calling out, "Get the R6 or R5 of [Alliance Name] to come and talk."
Since you’ll be dealing with players from different countries and time zones, diplomacy can be quite demanding. Therefore, I recommend creating an alliance only if you’re genuinely interested and have the energy to manage it.
Relationships Between Alliances
The game is divided into three factions: red, green, and blue. Each faction has many alliances. Outside of the "Frostnight Expedition" event, alliances within the same faction can form friendly alliances, or they can set cross-faction hostilities.
If an alliance is hostile, the names of its lords will appear in red.
If an alliance is friendly, its members' names will appear in green. If no relationship is established, names will appear in white.
You can use these colors to determine your relationship with other alliances.
Note: Only members of your own alliance cannot be attacked. Even alliances with friendly relations can still be targeted.
In the game, it’s common for members of your alliance to attack a friendly alliance, prompting their managers to angrily demand an explanation. If the other side is particularly aggressive, your actions could suddenly escalate into a full-blown conflict between the two alliances.
When members of your alliance attack or are attacked, notifications appear in the alliance chat, making it easy for others to jump in and retaliate, leading to larger clashes.
Competition and Cooperation Between Alliances
Relationships between alliances are delicate. When capturing cities, they are in direct competition, vying for points and rewards. However, in the "Chronicle" events, they must cooperate, as many Chronicle tasks require coordination among multiple alliances to unlock.
For example, some conditions require 10 alliances to reach Level 5 before they can be unlocked.
Another example is the "Relic Wars," where players from the same faction must work together to secure advantages for their side.
Imagine if your alliance’s diplomatic relations are poor, and during the Relic Wars, other alliances from your faction are working against you—it would be a frustrating situation.
Previously, there was a Korean guild on our server that, relying on its top strength, made enemies everywhere. Eventually, almost every alliance on the server united against them, forcing them to transfer servers in disgrace.
Additionally, during the "Frostnight Expedition," servers compete against each other, requiring all alliances across the three factions on a server to unite against other servers. This demands collective effort and teamwork.
In "War and Eternity," the relationships between alliances are nuanced. On one hand, you must compete with them, but on the other, you can’t afford to antagonize them too severely. Therefore, alliance managers need high emotional intelligence to navigate these dynamics effectively.
In other words, serving as an alliance manager in the game can be a great way to hone your interpersonal skills. I hope everyone can successfully manage their alliances in the game.
